For over a year, the Essie Gel Couture polishes have been my favorite polishes to wear! In the line, they have a Gel Couture Top Coat, which is the top coat that I pair with the polishes. I’m always looking to try something new for top coats and the CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat has been getting amazing reviews! I was so intrigued, that I knew I needed to try it!
The Vinylux Weekly Top Coat is a part of a polish system, much like the Essie Gel Couture line. The Vinylux line claims to become more durable with exposure to natural light, dries quickly, and provides a weeks worth of wear-time. It is recommended to apply two coats of polish, with one layer of the top coat over top.
When applying the top coat, it feels very similar to other gel-like topcoats. It’s much thicker than normal top coats, however, I find that this is actually a little runnier than the Essie Gel Couture Top Coat. I found that I needed to clean off the brush quite a bit, as to not get too much product on the nail. After applying the top coat, it dries down to the touch in about five minutes. To fully dry, I would give the nails about 20 minutes.
The nails are extremely shiny and look much like gel nails do! After trying this out for a few months, I can say that this is definitely one of the most long-lasting top coats I have owned. I actually prefer this top coat over the Essie Gel Couture Top Coat! With an Essie Gel Couture polish and the Vinylux Top Coat, I can normally get seven days out of my nail polish before I find that it starts peeling off. There may be one or two chips (where my nails are usually broken), but nothing extreme! It’s so nice!
Overall, I am very pleased with this top coat! I was hesitant after using the Essie Gel Couture line for so long, but the Vinylux definitely out-does that line! I love the look and feel of my nails when using this!
